Body Doubling and Virtual Co-Working
Done is better than perfect. And done together is just easier.
Kim gets it. Sometimes the hardest part of organizing your space, clearing your inbox, or tackling that looming project isn’t the actual work. It’s just the act of getting started. When your brain decides a task is too big, too boring, or too overwhelming, willpower alone usually isn't enough. That’s where Kim comes in with body doubling.
If you haven’t heard of body doubling, ADD.org defines it as:
The methodology of ADHD body doubling is a productivity strategy used by individuals with ADHD to finish possibly annoying jobs while having another person beside them. This person is the body double. The body double’s duty is to keep the individual with ADHD focused on the task at hand to reduce potential distractions and increase motivation.
Here’s how it works with Kim by your side, virtually:
Step 1: Show up exactly as you are. Log into our virtual platform - Google Meet or Facetime. “Bring” your pile of laundry, your tax documents, or your unanswered emails.
Step 2: Declare your intentions. Kim will ask you to begin by setting this intention so we know exactly what we’re tackling.
Step 3: Dive in! Kim will keep you focused, with an eye on the time. You keep your camera on for accountability, your mic muted for focus, and enjoy the companionable silence.
Step 4: Celebrate the progress. Kim will check back in, cheer you on for what we accomplished, and wrap up with any homework items needed.
