Tidy for Good Featured in Yahoo!

Thrilled to share that Tidy for Good was featured in Yahoo’s article entitled “7 genius tricks people with perfectly organized closets swear by (and 4 mistakes they never make).” I can’t say that my closet is perfectly organized but I can definitely find what I want to wear and I definitely follow the tips that I’ve shared.

Some excerpts:

You'll never see what you have unless it's all together, rather than spread out throughout your home," says Kim Shiu, professional organizer and owner of Tidy for Good in Kansas City.

Want to take it a step further? Create even more order within each category. "Hang clothing from longest to shortest, thickest to thinnest and darkest to lightest," says Shiu. "Our brains love to see this uniformity and order in our closets."

Take it from the pros who do it themselves. "Twice a year, I take everything out of my closet and make sure that I still want to keep it. I rotate my seasonal wardrobe at that time too," says Shiu. As you pack things away, take a moment to reevaluate each item. "Make sure that you want to bring each item into the future with you before you pack it away," she says. If not, donate or discard it.
